Man, I really loved this. The super cool motorcycle that turned into a robot, the city in space, the whole weird science fiction twist. And that ending. Damn. It was so much better then I expected it could be. I still have my copy off of LD. Somewhere.

It had everything. Plus an ending that sorta made you wanted more. Just imagine if they never finished it! (of course when they did, they ended up changing things around with the design but it was still pretty much all there)

By the way, these scans are from my original Japanese VHS copy I picked up along with "Part II". It was a sweet deal. Plus I couldn't help but notice the final shot on my copy of the Tokyo background is much more cruder-looking than the one you normally see on subsequent releases, so I guess they had to re-do that outside this original release (first edition or what-not).

I wonder if they were rushed to finish it for the OAV release date.

Thanks for scanning the liner notes, too. You don't usually see those anymore. I remember the LD also had liner notes and I wish I'd made copies when I had a chance.

I often thought that was the case.

Neat that they used to do that. I simply just grabbed my tape and scanned those in. Thought it was cute it was on VHS anyway since it was put out by the same people who perfected it anyway (JVC). :-)
