I just barely remember this. And I have no idea when or where I saw it.

Damn, that's some rough looking animation.

This was done by a very short-lived studio that made one other TV special that aired around the Bicentennial in 1976, but probably their best known piece of rough animation was this TV commercial that played into the 90's...

Sadly the studio died when it's owner suffered a heart attack a year after this Xmas special first aired. Many of the guys who worked there as their first job in animation went on to other interesting careers in the field.
